T. Natalie Adefunmi, AMFT

Natalie is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #127669), who is supervised by Suzanne Mell, LMFT (Lic. #35315). She received her Bachelor’s in Arts in Psychology at California State University, Sacramento, and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. As an associate Natalie is registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, as she accumulates her experience preparing for licensure. Prior to joining Building Foundations Counseling Center Natalie worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, as part of her field studies for her master’s degree, at Hope for Healthy Families Counseling Center.

During her journey at Hope for Healthy Families she provided therapy to children, teens, adults, families, and couples, those who experience trauma, communication issues, boundaries, unhealthy relationships, and individuals that suffered with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and more. In addition, Natalie has over four years of experience in behavior modification and worked with youth who were diagnosed with mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Natalie helps others by providing a safe therapeutic space where people can talk about their problems and other outlooks on life. Natalie provides the appropriate therapeutic approach that will meet her patient’s needs and comfort level. Some of her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and play/art therapy. She is also in the process of becoming certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She understands that everyone’s walk is different and there isn’t one right way to live and cope with life.  She would love to help you with that journey.
