Karysa Jimenez, AMFT

Karysa is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #134126), who is supervised by Melissa Drivon, LMFT (#51421). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, San Jose, and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. As an Associate Karysa is registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, as she accumulates her experience preparing for licensure.

Prior to joining Building Foundations Counseling Center Karysa worked as an Associate, for The Holistic Counseling Center and as a trainee for Almaden Valley Counseling Center. While working in these settings Karysa gained experience treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, boundaries & communication, self-esteem, complex trauma, and life transitions. She has also completed specialized training in Treating Complex Trauma with Internal Family Systems. She has worked with clients ranging in age from 7-80.

To help clients reach their goals, Karysa uses various therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Solution Focused.

Karysa’s goal is to create an environment where her clients feel comfortable and understood on their healing journey.
