Robert Baumgardner, LMFT

Robert is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with 15 years experience, and enjoys working with adults, teens, individuals, couples, families, groups and men’s issues. He specializes in anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as, relationship problems. In addition, he has 10 years experience working with combat veterans.

Robert earned his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. He blends a variety of theoretical approaches in therapy to meet client needs and strengths. These include Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy and Family Systems.

Before joining Building Foundations Counseling Center, Inc., Robert worked for the Veterans Administration providing clinical services to combat veterans and their families. Prior to that, he worked in county mental health, non-profit agencies, schools and private practice. His approach to therapy is collaborative, and he typically is able to relate to people who are hesitant about participating in the therapeutic process.
