Kasey Cardinale, LMFT – Licensed Therapist

Kasey joins the center’s staff with years of experience working with teens and their families in the Sacramento area. Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2010, she has spent five years working at St. Francis High School in the Guidance Department. In 2011, she became the first Wellness Counselor at SFHS, specifically developing programming for mental health awareness and crisis prevention in a school setting. Through the facilitation of psycho-educational groups, providing families triage support to resources in the community, and doing outreach to junior high students she has developed a niche for treating students.

Kasey received her Bachelors of Arts degree in English from the University of San Diego in 2004 and her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2007. Prior to working in the high school setting, she gained clinical experience at the college level interning at Pepperdine’s Counseling Center. Trained in a multi-disciplinary team, she gained exposure to working collaboratively with nutritionists and psychiatrists also serving the undergraduate and law student populations. She is excited to work with local college students in the Folsom and surrounding areas. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, education, adjustment issues (most commonly the transition into high school or into college), and grief/loss. Her theoretical orientation is a blend of solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems.
