Colette Perkins, LMFT

Colette is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (Lic.# 117281), since 2019, with over 20 years of experience providing mental health and behavioral health services to children, youth, couples, adults, and their families. Colette earned a Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. She has served as a consultant and faculty member in the private and public sectors.

Colette’s clinical experience includes working with individuals, children/adolescents, adults who are facing insurmountable obstacles or who are stuck in habitual unwanted behaviors/thinking patterns. She has supported her work by utilizing Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed and Attachment Approaches, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and Family Systems Therapies to assist people in alleviating painful or unwanted symptoms.

To better her clientele, Colette has received specialized training in the area of Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Trauma, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, LGBTQ, Parenting Management, Adoption Issues, Women’s Issues, Play and Art Therapies, Child Sexual Abuse and Non-conforming Relationships. Currently, Colette is continuing to expand her skill set by pursuing certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Also, she is in the process of becoming a Certified Sex Therapist, which will allow her to treat individual(s) and/or couples who have been sexually abused or assaulted as either a child or as an adult. She is a member of the American Association Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
